Operation Christmas Child
The Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational, evangelical, Christian organization that is sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through the Operation Christmas Child Program.
They begin by inviting churches worldwide to fill a shoebox with toys, clothing, school supplies, and personal hygiene products to be distributed to needy children in more than 100 countries. One girl remarked that the pair of socks she received was the first brand-new piece of clothing she had ever had.
An invitation for the child to attend a 12-week Bible study, The Greatest Journey, is also added to the shoeboxes. This study, telling the message of Jesus, will be taught by a person from their community who speaks their language. These children share His message with their friends and family. They are bringing their parents and grandparents to Christ. Lives are changed.
