Crossroads Nogales Mission

NOTE:  Since March 2020, when the Coronavirus pandemic hit the nation, some of the activities are not available at Crossroads Mission until further notice. For more information email the Mission Committee Contact for the latest news we have on opening up Crossroads Mission fully.

This is the only shelter in Nogales, Arizona.

In 2019, Crossroads Mission in Nogales, Arizona, has served 49,350 men, women and children.  They have seen the number rise considerable since 2016 due to the economy in Nogales, Arizona, and the surrounding area.   Each one who comes to Crossroads Mission for help is treated with compassion and love.

In 2019 they opened Java Soul Coffee Shop which is open Thursday and Friday nights for youth to gather with their friends in a safe environment.

They continue to provide a 6-month substance abuse recovery program and a 6-month in-house probation program, as well as providing a shelter for abused women and children.

They serve free lunches six days a week for the needy.  They also provide free dinners for families of the community on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

  • Pray for Crossroads Mission because the decline of donations has hit them hard.

  • Pray that a new Crossroads Mission CEO/Director can be found to replace founders Ben and Bert Wenke who want to retire. They will continue in their positions until someone is hired.

  • Help supply food and clothing.  Needed are canned fruits, canned vegetables, pasta, powdered milk, sugar, rice, peanut butter, jelly, tomato sauce and spices.  Clean and gently-used clothes are also needed.  Place your donations in the Crossroads Mission box located in Valley Presbyterian Church’s Fellowship Hall.

  • Become a volunteer to prepare a hot lunch at Crossroads Mission.  Valley Presbyterian has designated the 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays of each month of the year to travel to Nogales, Arizona, to make lunch and serve it to 50-70 people in need of a meal.  Pick a Wednesday and text/call Joan Bolin, (206) 465-3944, to get on the schedule.

Mission Committee Contact, Joan Bolin, can be reached through the VPC office email,
