The Spring Women's Gathering of Presbytery de Cristo
Valley Presbyterian Church Women's Ministries hosted the Spring Women’s gathering of Presbytery de Cristo on Saturday May 14.
Reverend Diane Christopher was to be the keynote speaker but contracted Covid and Reverend Craig Lindsey filled in.
Following the business meeting and election/installation of officers, a special award went to Kay Davison for her years of service as Treasurer.
The program, a Taizé service, was in the Spiritual Life Center with Wes Moultion and the Taizé choir. Reverend Lindsey presented Sabbath: A Gift and An Imitation, followed by silent communion. Lunch was in fellowship Hall.

We will first feature an American flag folding ceremony honoring the memory of our fallen military. This ceremony begins with the bugler David Chasney, playing our National Anthem then the narration of the meaning of each of the thirteen folds and ending with the playing of taps. The memorial flag folding will include a representative of American Legion Post #131, Commander Bruce Distler who will present the flag to Reverend Dr. Craig Lindsey.
Immediately following we will all adjourn inside to the Spiritual Life Center, where Green Valley resident, Chris Arundel, will talk to us and present slides where he and his family were imprisoned for three years in a Japanese prisoner of war camp in Manila during World War II.
Coffee and water will be served Immediately following this event. All are welcome.
