Rev. Dr. "Pastor Craig" Lindsey

Craig grew up in the Presbyterian Church, baptized in a New Church Development in Detroit, MI; nurtured in a New Church Development in St. Louis, MO; confirmed at First Presbyterian Ann Arbor, MI; ordained at Kirk In The Hills, Bloomfield Hills, MI. A graduate with Honors from The College of Wooster, OH in Urban Planning; then Masters in Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in NYC. Married to Judy, who is also a Preacher’s Kid. Rev. Lindsey’s first Call was on staff of First Presbyterian Church Battle Creek, MI; then a decade in New Berlin, WI as Solo Pastor with Forest Park Presbyterian Church where they changed the National Policy of JC Penney’s stores; followed by 23 years in NY’s Finger Lakes at First Presbyterian Church Skaneateles, NY (where they averaged 200 inches of snow annually), before making their home at Valley Presbyterian Church. Craig earned his Doctor of Ministry at Columbia, focusing on the Gospel in Post-Modern Culture, his Thesis on Congregational Resurrection.
Craig has a passion for Ethics and Mission that makes a difference in the world, having led over 30 Mission Workweeks in the United States; traveling with International Design for Economic Awareness (IDEA) with the Maquiladoras Industries in Mexico; the PC(USA) Peace and Justice program in the Caucus Mountains of what was then the USSR; repeated adventures in Africa developing a Health care System for 750,000 patients in isolated Jonglei State, South Sudan; and with Faith in Practice in Antigua, Guatemala. Dr. Lindsey has Certification in Bio-Medical Ethics, having served on the Ethics Committees and IRB of several Hospitals. He served as the President of the City Ethics Board. Recognized as Peacemaker of the Year in New York State. Most recently, Craig completed a term as the Synod of the Northeast Commissioner to the PC(USA) Permanent Judicial Commission. Throughout the last several years, he has been immersed in studying Family Systems Theory especially as this applies to Church Family Systems.
Craig and Judy have two adult sons, living in Brooklyn, NY and Berkeley, CA, as well as a Springer Spaniel who loves taking them for hikes.
