Memorial Day Service
On May 30 American Legion Post #131 and Valley Presbyterian Church held a Memorial Day celebration and commemoration outside the Church. It featured an American flag folding ceremony honoring the memory of our fallen military. The ceremony began with the bugler, David Chasney, playing our National Anthem. A narration of the meaning of each of the thirteen flag folds ended with the playing of taps. American Legion Post #131, Commander Bruce Distler, presented the flag to Reverend Dr. Craig Lindsey.
Immediately following inside the Spiritual Life Center, Green Valley resident, Chris Arundel, presented a slide show documenting how he and his family were imprisoned for three years in a Japanese prisoner of war camp in Manila during World War II.
The Church is grateful to the Green Valley community for their outstanding support of this important event.
