Sharane Oehler
Sharane was born in Cannon Falls, MN and was raised in Ortonville, MN. She graduated from Mankato State College in Mankato, MN with a major in Spanish and a minor in Music. While in college, Sharane studied piano with Dr. Edward Eppley and flute with Dr. Ruth Giles. She was a flutist with the Mankato Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Mankato College Orchestra.
Prior to her move to Green Valley in 1988, Sharane resided in Onawa, IA, where she taught piano, flute, organ and voice to 68 students.
Sharane has two children and four grandchildren. Her son, Kyle, lives in California and her daughter, Brenda, son-in-law and four teenaged daughters live in Onawa. Brenda and her daughter, Laura, are also piano teachers.
She has been a church pianist/organist for 49 years. Most recently she was a staff member of Green Valley Baptist Church for 15 years. Sharane has been a soloist with the Chamber Music Society, Friends of Music, Opera Previews and has performed in solo and duo-piano recitals. Currently, she works as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Sharane became a member of Valley Presbyterian Church in 1988 and rejoined in 2003. She is thrilled to be “back home” serving as pianist/organist
